Oturere Hut is currently closed while a new hut is being built. There is no accommodation between Mangatepopo Hut and Waihohonu Hut. This section should only be completed by those fit enough to walk 20 km, in one day, over difficult terrain. The new Oturere Hut is due to reopen for the 2026/2027 Great Walk Season.
