Paparoa Track closure times 8-10 May

Paparoa Track is temporarily closed between Ces Clark Hut and Pororari Hut at these times due to high winds exceeding our safety threshold: 11 am on Friday 8 May to 6 pm on Saturday 9 May  10 am to 9 pm on Sunday 10 May Track users should be prepared with adequate clothing and equipment for the wet wintery weather conditions. Adjust departure times or delay travel if necessary to ensure you are in shelter during this time or allow time to turn back or hunker down at a hut if needed. First published on 8 May 2026.
